Sorry for the long time between posts. Lots going on in my life right now with a new-born and looking at another surgery on my hip which is slowing down the golf rehab
Ok pity party over! Let’s get back to golf! Specifically let’s talk about the transition and how we do it. Recently I saw a golf “guru” say this about Anthony Kim’s transition…
”AK is able to maintain his lane coming down and not lose the line because he moves parallel to the target line with his hips and not diagonally TOWARDS the target line. This is a subtle difference but is critical to his success”
Really?? Moves diagonal instead of towards the target line?? Wow…this is one of my pet peeves with the so-called guru’s out there…how about telling us why this happens instead of telling us what we already know… I mean talk about the master of the obvious.
Well in this video I address the issue (and show you) why the amateur thrusts his hips towards the ball. The appearance of hip thrust is not incorrect it is just that we begin this thrust from the wrong spot because we do not get the left glute back to where it was at address which would give us that squat appearance and the lateral move forwards vice at the ball. Hope you enjoy the video and I will follow it up with the drill that I discussed to help you begin to “feel” the proper move.
God Bless!

mship, welcome back.
Love the video.
Is this lateral hip shift the same “Magic Move” as in this thread: http://www.swingacademy.com/forums/yaf_postst202_The-Golf-Downswing–The-3-Magic-moves.aspx
or as referenced Here:

Your readers might want to know that the “Left Glute” is the back of the left butt cheek … in case they didn’t know.
Hope the baby doesn’t have colic !
